Layers of pattern, built up by hand until something new happens where the colours overlap. That's the idea behind the Art Earrings - a small, handmade, one-off collection born from a love of pattern, a trip to Tate Modern, and a nail art technique I couldn't resist trying on something wearable.
Each teardrop is cut from the lid of a plastic sweet tub, rescued before it could be thrown away. I hand-paint every piece, then print layer upon layer of pattern on top using a silicone stamper - working fast, before it dries, so there's no time to think. That's why no two pairs are ever quite the same.
Finished with sterling silver studs and posted in a little recyclable gift box, these are earrings with a proper story behind them - lovely for a wedding outfit, or as a gift for someone who'd rather wear something no one else can.
